Charmain Young CA (SD), CA (SA) is the owner of PKF Chartered Accountants Swaziland and Business Advisers and in this capacity she looks after the practice relating to the firm’s professional services. Charmain is an auditing, taxation and business advisory specialist with over 15 years of experience in undertaking and managing audit and taxation assignments in Swaziland. She has undertaken various assignments for banks, pension funds, manufacturing and retail companies, the transport industry, hospitality industries, donor agencies, small to medium sized clients and corporate clients. She has vast experience in the interpretation and implementation of the Income Tax Order of Swaziland, International Standards on Auditing; International Financial Reporting Standards; designing and implementing internal controls around financial reporting processes, and she has a thorough understanding of information systems relating to financial reporting. Charmain is in good standing with the Swaziland Institute of Accountants and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Charmain qualified as a Chartered Accountant in South Africa after serving her articles at one of the Big 4 firms. She travelled with the same firm to the United States where she completed a secondment and gained valuable international experience. She then returned to Swaziland and joined an International accounting firm in Swaziland where she initiated her role as an Audit Manager. Charmain later joined one of the Big 4 international firms where she held a position as audit manager initially in the Swaziland office and subsequently in the Johannesburg office. During her employment in Swaziland she qualified as a Chartered Accountant Swaziland.
